Giovanni Batista Garbarino is the man that is blurred in the photo. He is with his child and wife that are
standing to the right of Giovanni. Giovanni was born in Italy but immigrated to Fresno, California.
This photo was taken in Favale sometime either before or after WWI.

This photo was in the book "Il mio Paese". These are children of Castello in Favale.

Leone Garbarino (standing far left with beard) with Castello Waldensian church members. Photo taken
about 1919, after the death of Stefano Cereghino.


Leone Garbarino was converted to the Waldensian faith and was one of the founders of the
Evangelical church in Chiavari.  Leone Garbarino took over as minister of the Evangelical
Church of Favale after the death of Stefano Cereghino in 1919.  Leone Garbarino died in
1953 and asked to be buried in the Waldensian cemetery in Castello.
