He emigrated from Rapallo, Genova, Italy (information from Carlos Boitano) to Coronel, Chile around 1900 with other family members - probably Lorenzo Boitano's mother (Maria Boitano), his sister (Angela Boitano) and Angela Caprile's brother (Juan Caprile). Lorenzo Boitano and Angela Caprile had 7 children---all male---and all born in Chile. Only 2 of the 7 have descendants: Carlos and Luis. A. Boitano Pichott believes Lorenzo Boitano Boitano was born in Zoagli, Genova, Italy.
