BUT who is qualified? 1954 - New York Times - Bernard Giannini, 43, of Bank of America - Los Angeles, Sept 10 - Bernard Giannini, vice president of the Bank of America and nephew of the late A.P. Giannini, founder of the bank, died today in St. Vincent's Hospital. He was 43 years old. Mr Giannini had entered the hospital Sept 2, suffering from high blood pressure. He had been ill several months. He joined the bank's staff in 1941 and became manager of the Sunset-Clark branch in Hollywood in 1946. Then he was called to the Los Angeles main office and promoted to a vice- presidency. His duties were mainly in motion picture industry loans and accounts. Mr Giannini held a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Loyola University. He was a member of the university's board of directors and Alumni Association and was active in the Loyola University Foundation. The son of the late Dr. Attilio H Giannini, he leaves his wife, Mrs Colleen Sword Giannini - five children Victoria (10), Teresa (5), George Bernard (3), and twins Gloria Marie and Grace Mary (5 months) - and his mother, Mrs Leontine Giannini.
